We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Workshop Manager to join a well-established team in Canning Vale. This is a permanent position.
**Role duties include**:
- Oversee the general housekeeping of the workshop and ensure that high standards are maintained.
- Looking after the welding division as well as robotics welding.
- Conduct appropriate communication with customers and all levels within the company.
- Review daily the previous day's production and modify the daily schedule if required.
- Review production progress on at least a daily basis.
- Review, as required, progress of jobs against estimated labour and material requirements.
- Review, as required, the product being manufactured against engineering specifications.
- Liaise with clients in relation to manufacturing on repaired in terms of engineering specifications, standards and manufacturing requirements to ensure that all technical issues and challenges are understood by the company.
- Provide delivery and progress reporting on a regular basis to both the client and management.
- Review time cards of workshop employees on a daily basis.
- Review the condition of all plant and equipment in order to ensure it is maintained in a safe and proper working condition, and implement maintenance and replacement as required.
- Order consumables with sufficient lead time to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure that work is performed in accordance with the relevant quality standards, procedures, work instructions and drawings for the job.
- Liaise with inspection and N.D.T. personnel where applicable, to organise required inspections and tests.
- Organise sufficient progressive and final checking of work to ensure that quality and customer standards are met.
- Assist Production operators with health and safety matters.
- Ensure that company and statutory safe working requirements are met at all times.
- Provide necessary leadership and motivation to employees in order to enhance performance of the workshop.
- Provide technical and other training, with assistance when required, to employees.
- Provide appropriate input into job costing as required by the Workshop Manager and other Managers.
- Produce and issue welding procedures and conduct welding qualifications tests.
- Manage the factory and facilities to ensure its safety and security.
- Interview and employ new personnel.
- Ensure that there is suitable informed supervision at all times.
- Take responsibility for any work vehicles including any that may be allocated for your personal use.
**The successful applicant has the following skills and experience**:
- Trade qualification.
- MUST have relevant Welding Inspection and Welding procedure knowledge and qualifications
- A positive attitude towards safety.
- You will need strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail and be able to effectively manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Work suitable hours to appropriately fit company work hours and be available if required for important contact if required for clarifications of work matters. This may include private leave.
