About the Role
The focus of this role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns.
* Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers, and school communities to facilitate partnerships in decision-making for enhancing all students' learning.
* Use evidence-based intervention strategies to support young people experiencing challenges with mental health, social and emotional wellbeing.
* Provide therapeutic counselling and support through individual or group sessions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns.
* Facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services and assist students and families to access this support.
* Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the response team.
* Develop and/or maintain appropriate data collection and confidential records-keeping and reporting systems for individual students referred for support services in line with department procedures and policies.
* Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within an educational setting, providing support to schools and community networks relevant to the position.
