About the Position
The Deputy Director, Student Advising is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategy, performance and continuous improvement of CQUniversity's student advising services. The role leads a geographically dispersed team to deliver a consistent, high‐quality advising experience that supports student success, satisfaction and retention. A key priority will be strengthening the Student Service SPOT model through data‐informed decision‐making, service innovation and effective collaboration across the University.
As a member of the Directorate's leadership team, you will contribute to institutional strategy, policy and service design, while fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.

* Leading the strategic direction and optimisation of student advising services.
* Using data and insights to improve student outcomes and experience.
* Collaborating across academic and professional areas to enhance the student journey.
* Overseeing service design, programs and initiatives aligned to student needs.
* Managing resources and workforce planning to support sustainable service delivery.
* Building capability and performance across a diverse, multi‐campus team.

Position Requirements
Essential
* Postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience, or equivalent senior management expertise.
* Proven success in leading customer‐focused service functions, including strategy development, operational delivery and resource management.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high‐performing, geographically dispersed teams.
* Highly developed interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including influencing at senior levels.
* Strong analytical capability with experience using data to inform strategy and continuous improvement.
Desirable
* Deep understanding of the Australian tertiary education sector and student advising practices.
* Knowledge of contemporary student success, retention and engagement strategies.
