Our people and our assets are central to making this happen, and we're looking for a leader to step into the role of Superintendent Asset Health.
This is an opportunity for an experienced professional - someone who understands equipment, failure modes and maintenance realities firsthand - to help shape how we assess asset condition, anticipate issues before they arise, and keep our operations running at peak performance.
In this role, expertise to influence how we monitor, maintain and improve our fleet across mines, rail, port and our rapidly evolving decarbonised mobile equipment.
You'll champion practical solutions, drive the adoption of new technologies, and guide a high-performing team focused on safety, reliability and operational excellence.
You will lead Fortescue's asset health function, embedding best-practice processes and systems, developing meaningful asset insights, and providing clear, data-driven reporting to senior leaders.
You'll also support the trial and rollout of advanced condition monitoring tools and help streamline our asset management systems to ensure high-quality, efficient decision-making.
This role reports to the Manager Asset Health & Performance and leads a skilled team of specialists committed to supporting Fortescue's journey.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on world-class reliability, condition monitoring and continuous improvement
Own and optimise key asset health systems (AHM, MHM, Custodian, Inspector) to enhance accuracy, usability and decision-making
Drive Condition-Based Maintenance strategies that reduce cost, improve performance and strengthen lubrication and monitoring standards
Identify, trial and implement new and emerging condition-monitoring technologies to lift reliability across the operations
Develop digital solutions—including custom apps, dashboards and asset health metrics—to streamline processes and support data-driven insights
Deliver strategic reliability and asset health improvement plans aligned across stakeholders and contributing to Fortescue's decarbonisation goals
Qualifications and Experience
Engineering degree preferred; Mechanical/Electrical trades considered alongside significant experience in mining/heavy industry
Strong background in engineering, condition monitoring, maintenance or reliability
Asset management experience beneficial
Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong analytical capability and data-driven decision making
