This role will be part of the network and infrastructure teams and will work with both teams on operations and projects across the Nine group, ensuring high uptime and delivering resilient, secure and high-performance solutions. The role involves network and infrastructure-related projects in Melbourne, working closely with stakeholders in TV and Radio Broadcast Engineering teams.
This role is ideal for a proactive, resilient, and self-sufficient individual who is eager to learn and develop. You’ll need the confidence and drive to solve problems, along with a natural curiosity for continuous growth, especially since the majority of the team is based in Sydney. While support and guidance are readily available, this role is best suited for individuals who are proactive and can work independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for Nine’s network and virtualisation infrastructure through monitoring health and utilization, and by responding quickly to incidents and requests.
- Contribute to various Melbourne-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and meet business requirements. Example: network migration to a new VXLAN-based network design.
- Enforce security policies across existing network and infrastructure solutions and new initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rosters as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Solid understanding of network and/or infrastructure technologies and concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and ask effective questions to resolve issues or elicit requirements.
- Highly motivated to learn and develop additional network and infrastructure skills, with a genuine drive for this career path.
- Interest in developing Infrastructure as Code.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks concurrently, assess current states, and drive toward desired outcomes.
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Hands-on experience with software development and/or scripting & automation (PowerShell and Ansible preferred).
- Previous experience within the media or technology industry is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet network solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, AzureAD, Windows/Linux, VMware, Storage, SSO.
- CCNA and/or CompTIA Network+ knowledge; certifications are helpful but not strictly required.
