We are looking for a driven and commercially focused Merchandise Planner to join the Platypus team. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will bring structure, visibility and control across multiple brands, working closely with Buyers to deliver budgeted sales and gross profit outcomes.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with data, collaborating across teams and turning insights into action in a fast paced retail environment.
What you will be doing
* Build, manage and maintain Merchandise Financial Plans MFPs and WSSIs in partnership with Buyers and Planning leadership
* Own weekly and seasonal reporting with clear product and brand insights
* Maximise return on inventory through stock management, markdown strategies and aged stock control
* Manage Open to Buy OTB, option plans, inventory levels and forecasts
* Analyse product performance to identify risks and opportunities for growth
* Lead monthly replans to keep forecasts across sales, GP, stock, OTB and markdowns accurate and up to date
* Provide recommendations on product ranging and distribution based on performance
* Track monthly sales and performance against budget, plan and prior year
* Optimise stock levels across stores and analyse product flow and trends to improve forecasting
What you bring
* Minimum five years experience in a Merchandise Planning role, ideally within high volume retail
* Strong financial and analytical capability with excellent numeracy skills
* Experience managing and developing high performing planning team members
* Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
* Strong organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills
* Adaptable, proactive and a make it happen mindset
* A degree in a related discipline is preferred but not essential
