Primary objective
Provide a high level of support to operational members of the Northern Territory Police Force through the operation and
monitoring of the Northern Territory Police Closed Circuit Television CCTV System.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Operate, monitor, analyse and exhibit CCTV footage in accordance with strict policies and procedures and report to
the CCTV Team Leader on incidents observed.
2. Liaise with police and other agencies and members of staff to ensure the appropriate use of the CCTV system.
3. Record all events and actions taken in a clear, legible and accurate written format.
4. Provide an efficient and courteous radio and telephone service and deal efficiently with all enquiries.
5. Undertake a full and active role in the running of the NT Police CCTV system to ensure an effective, confidential and
efficient service is provided.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. An ability to work shift work.
2. Ability to operate under pressure, multitask, make decisions, identify, and assesses issues quickly and accurately.
3. Well-developed and concise written and verbal communication skills.
4. Proven commitment to providing a professional customer focussed service with the ability to work collaboratively with
colleagues, police officers and senior staff.
5. Well-developed IT skills, including a comprehensive knowledge in the use of computer packages including Word, Excel
and databases.
6. Proven ability in exercising a high degree of confidentially, discretion, patience, and impartiality when handling
information and when dealing with members of the public, police force and other government departments.
7. Ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and ability to work within a team environment.
Desirable
1. Year 12 or equivalent.
2. Experience in monitoring CCTV security systems.
3. Experience in the use of Northern Territory Police Fire and Emergency Services information systems.
Further information
Applicants will be required to complete cognitive and psychometric testing and must also consent to a police check of
criminal records and intelligence data to confirm they have no significant criminal history. This is a three day a week shift
work position therefore applications will be required to work rostered day shifts and evening shifts that include public
holidays and weekends.
