Team Leader Aquatics (Ref: 1045)
About The Position
The Team Leader Aquatics is responsible for supporting the efficient daily operation of aquatic facilities by supervising staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering high-quality customer service. This role provides leadership to lifeguards and aquatic staff, oversees the maintenance and safe operation of pool plant and equipment, and is responsible for the recruitment, training, and performance management of lifeguards.
The City is open to considering applications from candidates with less relevant industry experience, to commence in an Aquatic Facilities Duty Supervisor capacity.
Key Accountabilities
* Supervise patrons around the pool and associated areas and ensure centre policies are being adhered to, to facilitate a safe and enjoyable leisure experience.
* Recruit, train, and manage a team of qualified pool staff, including lifeguards and support personnel. Develop and maintain staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage across all operational hours.
* Coordinate and regulate the use of pool space by various user groups and ensure allocated areas are clearly roped off and marked with signage.
* Undertake supervision, rescues and emergency intervention in accordance with Aquarena policies and procedures, RLSWA guidelines for Safe Pool Operation and industry standards and practices.
* Assist with the operation of the Foreshore Water Park and Doc Docherty Swimming Pool where required.

Position Requirements
The successful applicant will assist with the daily operations of the City's Aquatic Facilities. Candidates will hold the relevant qualifications and have previous experience working in Aquatic Facility operations.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration And Benefits
The Team Leader Aquatics position has a salary starting from $94,452 per annum or $ per hour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
A lesser salary starting at $89,127 per annum may be offered should applicants not yet possess the experience required for this position and are more suited to the role of Aquatic Facilities Duty Supervisor.
