Join Our QLD Team at Nexus Project Group!
At Nexus Project Group, we're more than just a rapidly growing construction company – we're industry specialists in insurance, delivering innovative solutions and high-quality repair outcomes across domestic, commercial, and industrial projects. We're proud to offer end-to-end solutions that focus on quality, compliance, and exceptional customer experiences.
About the Role
As Nexus Project Group continues to grow, we're expanding our Queensland team to meet increasing demand across the region. Based from Cairns and travelling to various sites through to Far North Queensland, this is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Estimator/Supervisor to join us during a strong period of growth and momentum.
This hybrid role offers the perfect mix of on-site work and office flexibility. You'll manage a diverse portfolio of insurance repair projects - from conducting site assessments and preparing scopes of work, to coordinating trades and overseeing delivery - all while helping us maintain the high standards Nexus is known for.
Who We're Looking For
You're a capable and trustworthy construction professional with experience in estimating, scoping, and overseeing building works. You enjoy working independently, are confident in managing multiple projects, and know how to keep things moving on time and to a high standard. Your strong communication and organisational skills mean you're just as comfortable engaging with trades as you are preparing detailed reports and using digital systems.
Must-haves:
* Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Carpentry)
* Valid Driver's Licence and White Card
* Working Safely at Heights certification (preferred, not essential)
* Solid knowledge of the building process, construction standards, and relevant codes
* Strong computer skills — experience with Prime or other workflow systems is a bonus, but if you're tech-savvy, we're happy to teach you!
What You'll Do
* Conduct detailed site inspections to assess damage and prepare accurate scopes of work using Prime, aligned with building codes, regulations, and company policies
* Manage insurance repair projects from start to finish, working from home and attending sites as needed
* Assign work orders to subcontractors and monitor progress to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes
* Carry out regular quality control checks to ensure compliance with insurer policies, Nexus standards, and applicable regulations
* Identify and process variations to keep projects on track and in scope
* Maintain clear records and reports for compliance, financial tracking, and audit purposes
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and suppliers, managing communication and resolving issues
What You'll Get
At Nexus, we offer a supportive, inclusive, and team-oriented culture. You'll enjoy competitive salary packaging, long-term career development, and all the tools you need to succeed, including:
* Company-maintained vehicle + fuel card
* e-Tag
* Mobile phone, laptop, and iPad
