Ecologist Role in Environmental Consulting
We are seeking a recent graduate or early-career ecologist with a passion for the outdoors and a strong foundation in ecology to join our team in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge of NSW flora and fauna, participate in field survey programs, and support interpretation and application of environmental legislation.
About the Role
* Conduct ecological surveys and report production, working closely with senior ecologists to provide advice to clients in office and in-field settings.
* Participate in field survey programs to collect various ecological data.
* Support the interpretation and application of environmental legislation to projects across different sectors under the guidance of more senior staff.
* Assist in preparing tenders and proposals, including development of budgets and resourcing plans.
* Contribute to studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions, and decisions, and prepare reports outlining findings, including biodiversity assessment reports.
* Travel to remote areas, including interstate, to conduct field survey programs.
Requirements
* An appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or a related field.
* Working knowledge of NSW flora and fauna.
* Scientific or consulting report writing and computer skills.
