The Role
Key responsibility is to deliver a positive food services for Hindmarsh Food and Retail within our retirement villages.
Main tasks revolve around:
* Provide food that meets high nutritional and quality standards
* Manage stock control and ordering,
* Compliance of local and national Food Safety requirements and Work health Safety
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen /food production team
* Training of new kitchen staff in all facets of food production and kitchen support
* Cost and wastage management
* Prepare menus and tailor food offerings in response to resident feedback
* Champion the food service offering in the villages, and facilitate additional food services to create alternative revenue streams
About You
You're an experienced chef who brings both culinary skill and strong operational discipline. You understand food safety, compliance and cost control, and you're confident leading a small team in a fast-paced but community-focused environment. Just as importantly, you value consistency, presentation and the experience your food creates for residents.
You're organised, calm under pressure, and able to balance hands-on kitchen work with planning, ordering and training responsibilities. You listen to feedback, enjoy engaging with residents, and can adapt menus to suit varying dietary needs. Your approach is patient, respectful and service-driven — and you genuinely enjoy creating meals that make a meaningful difference in people's day-to-day lives.
