Position Information
The Principal will commence from the start of Term 3 2026 and lead the establishment of the new public school and preschool. The preschool opens on Day 1 Term 1 2027 and the school opens Day 1 Term 1 2028.
Proudly located in the Albury Network of Schools, the new primary school and preschool is located in Wirlinga which is a rapidly growing suburb of Albury, NSW.
The new school will have modern facilities with 18 new classrooms with shared common areas and multipurpose spaces, specialist support learning facilities, sports field and multipurpose sports court, library and multipurpose hall.
The school will provide an inclusive, responsive and supportive environment that allows each individual to develop to their potential. The school will be an active and proud member of the Albury Principals Network whilst working in strong collaboration and partnership with students, parents and carers, staff and the school community.
The school will work to establish a Parent and Citizens Association and work in partnership with the Albury Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG).
Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
* Capacity to lead and operationalise a new school establishment, aligning vision, systems and structures with system priorities.
* Demonstrated expertise in leading high-impact teaching and developing high-performing staff, with a strong focus on explicit teaching, evidence-informed practice, coaching and professional learning
* Demonstrated ability to build authentic connections and collaboration with all stakeholders, including the local community, school parents and carers, the AECG, and external agencies, to support student success in all aspects of school life.
* Demonstrated capacity to lead and embed whole-school systems that promote equity, inclusion and positive student wellbeing, ensuring all students are supported to engage, achieve and thrive.
General Selection Criteria
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P3 for 2026.
