About Us
We provide fire prevention, preparedness and response services to the community in various environments, as well as scientific and specialist capabilities. Our multi-hazard emergency response includes road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue.
The department encompasses a range of functions supporting community safety outcomes, including providing a number of services across the state. We work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to fires and other emergencies in a professional and timely manner to minimise loss to life, property and the environment.
* Contribute to fire prevention and community education activities to improve safety and emergency preparedness.
Key Accountabilities
* Operate emergency response vehicles and equipment safely and effectively.
* Maintain our resources and facilities to ensure operational readiness.
* Undertake a range of functions requiring the practical application of skills and knowledge.
Requirements
* Hold a valid Blue Card with attached evidence.
* Manual Medium Rigid driver's licence.
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* Advanced Resuscitation Certificate.
