Your part in St Andrew’s War Memorial Working as a Chef in our Food Services culinary team you will: Produce high quality freshly cooked meals in a well-equipped modern kitchen Be part of our qualified chef brigade producing up to 750 meals per day Have input into function menus and future hospital menus Be provided with opportunities for culinary growth, and constant improvement Produce upmarket cuisine by catering for executive functions and events Be provided with opportunities for growth as we progress towards our Room Service model Work in a Hotel style kitchen operation Be able to apply your transferrable skillset from hospitality to the security of a career in the Healthcare sector Have the opportunity to be a recognised member of the Institute of Hospitality in Healthcare Shifts are typically 5am to 1pm or 10am to 6pm with some weekend shifts. This is subject to slight change depending on the demands of the business. What makes a difference for us? Certificate IIII in Commercial Cookery and a minimum of Five years post-apprenticeship experience or equivalent. Excellent communication and time management skills. Previous experience working in high volume food outlets, hotel function centre or large a la carte restaurants in the hospitality sector. Flexibility to rotate within the main production kitchen sections. A professional attitude with excellent personal presentation. Be proficient in all aspects of food safety. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HACCP principles and PPE requirements. Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment What makes a difference for you?
