* Assume a key leadership role in shaping the company’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems and culture.
This is a multifaceted senior management position, offering the opportunity to drive strategic initiatives and contribute to the development of WHS policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks.
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation, execution, tracking, promotion, and management of the company's WHS systems across all business units.
Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, executing, and continuously improving WHS policies, procedures, and systems, as well as managing occupational health matters, workers compensation, and injury management.
You will also collaborate with business units to integrate WHS requirements into planning and execution, lead incident investigations to identify root causes, and assist in the identification and implementation of corrective actions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WA WHS Act 2020 and WHS Regulations, ensuring compliance through reporting and documentation obligations.
Create and maintain policies and procedures that promote mental health, respectful workplace behavior, and psychological safety.
Ensure psychosocial risk management is embedded within the broader WHS management system, aligning with relevant legislation.
The ideal candidate will possess practical industry WHS experience in a similar position, preferably with a rapidly growing junior explorer or mid-tier developer or producer.
A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is expected, ideally accompanied by a Diploma or postgraduate qualification in WHS or Risk Management.
In-depth knowledge of the WA WHS Act and Regulations (Mining) is essential.
As a self-starter, you will be used to working independently as a 'one-man band' and have excellent communication skills.
