Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants as our goal is to strengthen spiritual, personal, social and emotional wellbeing of our trainees.Applications close for this role on July 18, 2025.The National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA), based at Ayers Rock Resort, is seeking a Youth Worker to live and work onsite at Yulara, NT, which is a 20-minute drive from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks.The NITA residential program supports up to 80 trainees in dormitory-style accommodation while they complete their traineeship at Ayers Rock Resort. As a Youth Worker, you will ensure that every trainee in our community feels a sense of connection, safety, pride, and most importantly, feels at home during their trainee journey. Our team of wellbeing support workers aims to establish strong relationships with each trainee by providing a supportive and encouraging environment. This begins with recruitment and orientation into the program, through to celebrating their achievements at graduation.You are the heart of our team, with your primary purpose being attentive to the wellbeing needs of trainees and serving as a role model by taking pride and responsibility in maintaining residential facilities and amenities. We seek an enthusiastic team member dedicated to promoting strong work ethics and seeking daily opportunities to enhance the spiritual, personal, social, and emotional wellbeing of trainees.About the roleThe key duties include:Relational & practical support: coordinate practical support (e.g., transport to medical appointments) to assist trainees in meeting their needs.Facility management: undertake daily tasks to enhance and maintain the presentation and operation of the residential facility.Activities delivery: design, plan, and deliver culturally safe activities to promote the social, emotional, spiritual, and cultural wellbeing of trainees.Mentoring: provide mentoring to support trainees in completing their traineeship and achieving their personal and professional goals.About youYou are passionate about supporting young adults to achieve their goals. You understand the unique strengths and challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, with a willingness to listen and learn. Experience in social and emotional support work is essential. A minimum Cert III in Community Services or Youth Work qualification is required.
