Job Description
We are seeking a senior economist to lead our Regulatory Economics Unit.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in delivering expert economic advice and analysis on regulatory matters.
* Lead the work of the unit, ensuring complex advice is delivered in an accessible format for non-technical stakeholders.
* Drive change-management programs to improve the use of economic analysis.
* Build productive professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Manage and mentor economists to promote high-quality outputs.
* Ensure systems and frameworks apply rigorous economic principles in decision-making.
* Engage stakeholders to enhance understanding of economic analysis in regulatory considerations.
* Represent the organization nationally and internationally.
About You
To be successful, you will have advanced economic credentials, significant leadership experience, and expertise in applying micro- or financial economics to economic regulation.
You should also have:
* Post-graduate qualifications in economics.
* In-depth knowledge of economic concepts relevant to regulatory functions.
* Strong grasp of contemporary cross-jurisdictional and international regulatory issues.
* More than seven years of experience leading advice on regulatory economic functions.

This role offers a competitive salary package, including EL2 $143,411 – $168,064 + 15.4% superannuation.
