Researcher Position: Frailty Work Package 2 Co-design
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our team in the field of health sciences and medicine. This research project aims to integrate frailty measurement into primary care systems in Australia and deliver novel decision-support tools for comprehensive frailty management.
About the Project
Frailty is a significant challenge for older community dwellers, with over 20% of Australians becoming frail as they age, leading to poorer quality of life, increased risk of disability, admission to hospital, nursing home placement, and death. Multicomponent interventions can reduce frailty and improve outcomes, but current barriers prevent their standardisation and embedding into health practice.
Key Objectives
* To use co-design methodology to create a toolkit for implementing frailty-focused interventions in primary care.
* To design and implement evidence-based interventions and communication strategies with patients.
* To conduct a process evaluation of the implementation of the toolkit.
Requirements
Candidates will have the opportunity to develop skills in co-design, qualitative research, and implementation science. They will be supported by experts in ageing and geriatric medicine, qualitative research, implementation science, and primary care research.
Selection criteria include a bachelors in a health-related area, excellent analysis and writing skills, interpersonal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.
