Who are we looking for? We're looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Civil & Transport Infrastructure team in Darwin. In this role you will manage the design and documentation on a variety of civil and transport infrastructure projects in both the public and private sectors, across an extensive regional client portfolio. You will provide leadership, guidance and assistance in the delivery of projects from concept stage through to construction. You will have an aptitude for resolving complex site constraints within the operational parameters required of such facilities, as well as previous project experience within a multi‑disciplinary team.

Our Civil & Transport Infrastructure team is a key component in major infrastructure projects in the areas of industrial development, defence, renewable energy, major community projects, aviation and transport.
Working with an energetic and high‑performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you:
* Establish and maintain client relationships, identify new project opportunities and win work.
* Project‑manage and be technically responsible for large, high‑quality planning and design projects (>$3M design fee), including multi‑disciplinary coordination.
* Develop local junior engineers and design personnel.
* Ground truth designs throughout the Northern Territory’s extensive remote road network.
* Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects through other offices as required.
* Contribute to the development of GHD's knowledge and skills in civil and transport engineering including planning, design, and construction.
What You Will Bring To The Team
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
* Experience in establishing client relationships and winning work.
* Excellent project management skills and willingness to mentor junior engineers.
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) (Preferred).
* A passion for high‑quality design documentation, assessment and analysis of technical data, and imparting knowledge, skills, and experience through professional development.
* Knowledge of flood modelling and pavement design and an ability to integrate into civil and transport design (preferred).
* Strong communication skills both oral and written (including report writing).
* Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems to brief and budget.
* The capability to produce concise and accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, drafting briefs and mark‑ups.
* Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects from small to medium sized projects.
* Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling, and construction.
