The City of Karratha is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Sports Turf Maintenance to join our team
As an Apprentice, you'll gain hands‑on experience maintaining and presenting our parks, ovals and reserves while learning turf care, horticulture, and equipment operation from experienced professionals, all while working towards a Certificate III / IV in Sports Turf Management (or similar) to build the skills and knowledge for a rewarding career.
What you will do :
* Assist with maintaining and presenting parks, ovals and reserves across the City
* Follow directions from supervisors while working as part of the Parks and Gardens team
* Learn safe work practices, equipment operation, and turf care techniques
* Complete structured learning requirements towards a Certificate in Sports Turf Management or similar
What you will gain :
* Real‑world experience in turf care, horticulture, and open space maintenance
* A nationally recognised qualification in Sports Turf Management (Cert III)

We are looking for someone who :
* Has a genuine interest in the outdoors, parks, and green spaces
* Is eager to learn and open to hands‑on experiences
* Has some experience in gardening, machinery operation or turf maintenance (desirable)
What you will bring :
* Willing to undertake a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (or similar)
* National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months)
* Current C Class driver's licence (desirable)
