The Opportunity
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Track and Permanent Way Inspector to join our operations team. This is a highly specialized and safety-critical role responsible for ensuring the ongoing integrity and safety of DRR's railway lines. Your expertise in track inspection and maintenance standards is paramount for our operational continuity and regulatory compliance. If you possess the necessary qualifications and experience in permanent way management, and are committed to rail safety, this is a vital opportunity to make a direct and significant impact. Qualification and experience in trackwork are essential.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Conduct regular and thorough inspections of DRR's track, sleepers, ballast, points, culverts, and other permanent way infrastructure in accordance with DRR Track Standards and relevant regulations.
Identify defects, hazards, and areas requiring maintenance or repair.
Accurately record inspection findings and report issues to the Rail Operations Manager and/or Workshop Manager.
Monitor track conditions and assess risks to operational safety.
Provide technical advice on track maintenance and repair methodologies.
Collaborate with the Rail Operations team and Mechanical Workshop on infrastructure-related projects.
Adhere strictly to all DRR safety procedures, including those outlined in the Safety Management System (SMS) and Rulebook.
