About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications leveraging
Spring Boot
and
Apache Camel.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications leveraging Spring Boot and Apache Camel.
* Build and integrate RESTful APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and microservices architectures.
* Deploy and manage applications on AWS using services including EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, MemoryDB (Redis), and MSK (Kafka).
* Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
* Optimise applications for cloud scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
* Apply secure coding practices and ensure compliance with organisational and industry standards.
* Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers.
* Collaborate with architects, product owners, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
* Monitor application performance and implement improvements using CloudWatch, New Relic, or similar tools.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance value for members and stakeholders.
* Maintain and adhere to Quality Systems processes and procedures associated with the role.
Requirements and Experience
* Strong experience in Java development with Spring Boot and Apache Camel.
* Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native application design.
* Proven experience in microservices architecture and API integration.
* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
* Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
* Strong understanding of secure coding practices and software quality standards.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.
* Experience with
Kafka (MSK)
,
Redis (MemoryDB)
, and performance monitoring tools like
New Relic
.
* Exposure to
Agile/Scrum methodologies.
* Location – Melbourne & Sydney
* 6 months contract
