Join Port Stephens Council as a Senior Compliance Officer. The Compliance Team is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Compliance Officer to undertake a broad range of assessments, inspections, investigations, and rectification actions to protect the natural and built setting of the Port Stephens Local Government Area.
This role will involve working in the field and office, undertaking compliance functions such as conducting witness and offender interviews, issuing Notices and Orders, drafting court-related documents, and undertaking swimming pool barrier assessments.
The Compliance Team sits under the Community Futures Directorate of PSC, consisting of Compliance Officers, Environmental Health Officers, Rangers, and Administration Officers. The team has a balanced and practical approach to addressing critical environmental issues.
Key responsibilities and requirements:
- This is a permanent opportunity, working full-time (35 hours/week) with a flexible working arrangement.
- Base Salary Range: $82,208 - $96,718 pa, plus 12% superannuation, motor vehicle allowance, and retention allowance.
- Tertiary qualifications in Government Investigations, Town Planning, Construction Certification, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a Compliance or Investigatory role.
- Developed knowledge and experience with relevant legislation.
