**Billing Specialist: The Role of a Lifetime**
The Billing Specialist plays a vital role in the financial operations of a law firm. This position requires excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism to effectively administer monthly billing, research, respond to, and resolve inquiries or discrepancies regarding billing issues.
Key Responsibilities
* Accurate Billing Process Management: Manage billing processes with precision and efficiency, ensuring timely and accurate submission of invoices.
* Billing Discrepancies Resolution: Research and resolve billing discrepancies and inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
* Compliance and Procedures: Ensure compliance with billing guidelines and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accuracy.
* Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with attorneys and staff to facilitate billing operations, fostering open communication and teamwork.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Hands-on Billing Experience: Four (4) to six (6+) years of hands-on billing experience in a law firm, including 2-3+ years of electronic billing experience.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal accounting software, such as Aderant, Elite, LawTime, or similar systems; eBillingHub experience is highly desirable.
* Education and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent; college courses or degree in Accounting are a plus.
* e-Billing Vendor Systems and Outside Counsel Guidelines: Familiarity with multiple e-billing vendor systems and outside counsel guidelines.
* Strong Technology and Analytical Skills: Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to analyze and present complex data.
* Excellent Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an attention to detail and customer service approach.
* Independence, Prioritization, and Adaptability: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands.
* Flexibility: Flexibility to work weekends or evenings if needed.
