About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Management Officer to join our Melbourne-based team near Tullamarine Airport. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of GM Cabs' data systems — from taxi booking platforms and payment gateways to customer and driver databases.
As part of our operations division, you'll play a hands-on role in managing data governance, integrating systems, and supporting technology that keeps thousands of trips running smoothly every day.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with Australian data protection laws (e.g., Privacy Act 1988) across all passengers, driver, and payment data.
* Implement and maintain data security measures for sensitive information including credit card details, GPS data, and personal identifiers.
* Conduct system audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
* Manage integration between taxi booking systems, payment platforms, and customer databases.
* Oversee data migrations, upgrades, and system enhancements to improve service reliability and user experience.
* Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to align system functionality with operational needs.
* Produce analytical reports on ride volume, payment trends, and driver performance for management decision-making.
* Prepare technical documentation and conduct training for staff and drivers.
* Support system rollouts, user testing (UAT), and change management processes.
About You
* Tertiary qualification (Bachelors or Masters) in IT, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Strong understanding of data security and compliance principles.
* Experience in database management, systems integration, or digital platform support.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Hands-on experience with app-based systems (e.g., booking or payment applications) is highly desirable.
