The Mental Health Peer Support Worker plays a vital role in promoting recovery, empowerment and connection within the community by fostering trust and understanding.
Key responsibilities include providing peer support and encouragement to enhance client engagement with services, assisting consumers in implementing action plans developed through comprehensive needs assessments and collaborative planning with other team members, establishing and maintaining effective, professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the accurate and timely maintenance of client records adhering to required documentation standards and minimum data set requirements, and assisting with monitoring, reporting and evaluation activities where required.
About You
* Demonstrated personal lived experience of mental illness and recovery, either through direct personal experience or as a caregiver.
* Ability to draw on personal recovery experiences to provide professional, strengths-based support.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
* Relevant certifications in mental health, social work, mental health peer support, or other related fields (desirable).
* Out of hours work and intra-state travel may be required.
