About Us & The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist to join the Psychiatric Triage Service (PTS) on a full time, ongoing basis.

The PTS is a 24-hour, seven-day telephone-based assessment and response service, acting as a critical entry point to Monash Health Mental Health Services. The service supports adults aged 18–64 years, as well as providing after-hours mental health support for young people under 18 and adults aged 65 years and over.

As a PTS Clinician, you will play a vital role in delivering timely, high-quality mental health assessments and coordinating appropriate care pathways. Your responsibilities will include:

* Undertaking comprehensive preliminary mental health and risk assessments
* Determining the presence, urgency and nature of mental health concerns
* Facilitating timely responses by:
* Referring to internal specialist mental health services
* Linking consumers with relevant external agencies
* Providing clinical advice, support and risk management guidance

About You

You are an experienced mental health clinician with strong clinical expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to work confidently in complex and fast-paced situations. You communicate effectively, build strong professional relationships, and contribute positively to a supportive, multidisciplinary team culture.

You bring:

* Extensive experience managing complex mental health presentations, including acute or high-risk cases
* A strong working knowledge of mental health legislation, policy frameworks, and evidence-based practice
* Excellent organisational and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* A commitment to delivering recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care
* The ability to work autonomously while actively contributing to team collaboration and shared learning
