3. Position Purpose
This position is responsible for delivering occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and planning within the NDIS frameworks. The role aims to improve client functionality and independence in all life domains. The Occupational Therapist will deliver high-quality, person-centred, and goal-directed services that promote client wellness and participation in their care planning.
4. Key Responsibilities
Clinical / Professional Expertise
- Manage a caseload of clients in line with ADS policies and funding guidelines.
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments, including functional capacity, home safety, ADL, workplace, and pre-employment assessments.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and develop care plans aligned with client goals.
- Prescribe assistive technology, home modifications, mobility aids (including scooters), and vehicle modifications.
- Deliver therapy across various environments—home, community, workplace—as required.
- Write high-quality, goal-oriented NDIS reports and recommendations in a timely manner.
- Support and mentor NDIS participants to promote independence and participation.
- Collaborate with clients, families, referrers, GPs, allied health professionals, and community organisations.
- Provide preventative health education to clients and carers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with ADS policy.
Measurement and Reporting
- Monitor and manage client service hours to align with NDIS Service Agreements.
- Record and report client outcomes, service hours, and statistical data as required.
- Maintain databases and documentation systems (including TRAK and other platforms).
Team Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to team meetings, integrated care planning, and case discussions.
- Assist in the development of quality improvement initiatives.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Represent ADS and the OT profession positively within the organisation and community.
- Perform other duties or projects aligned with the role, as directed.

6. Qualifications & Experience
- Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Functional assessments and therapy in NDIS or aged care settings.
- Prescribing equipment and assistive technology.
- Home modifications, including complex housing needs.
- Recommending and planning vehicle modifications.
- Writing high-quality NDIS reports tailored to participant goals and funding needs.
Knowledge & Skills
- Sound knowledge of the NDIS framework, principles, and reporting requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
- Understanding of multidisciplinary team collaboration and integrated health services.
- Excellent communication skills across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Strong customer service and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and client management systems (e.g., TRAK).
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and organisational needs.

- Current Driver’s Licence (Victoria)
- Qualified Registrations (AHPRA)
Job Type: Subcontract
Pay: $100.00 – $120.00 per hour
