We are seeking an experienced Underground Mine Foreman to lead our African operations. With a strong background in managing large crews in an underground development mining environment, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results while ensuring a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate activities and plan mine development with engineering, maintenance, and supervisory personnel.
* Review data, such as schedules, plans, survey reports, and geological records to inform decision-making.
* Adhere to mining laws and safety regulations, providing guidance to workers on compliance.
* Monitor and consolidate records, including safety reports and production metrics.
* Supervise Underground Shift Supervisors and contribute to planning mining activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with clients to ensure expectations are met and targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
* Act as Relief/Alternate Site Manager when required, adhering to agreed schedules, programs, and targets.
* Manage manpower, roster preparation, annual leave scheduling, and assist with employment/deployment of the workforce.
Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years' experience in Underground Hard Rock Mining, with at least 4 years in a foreman or superintendent role executing high productivity underground. Strong high-speed development background with operator experience is essential. A WA Shift Supervisors certificate or equivalent is required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to coordinate activities, and recognize potential mining hazards and risks.
