This critical leadership role is responsible for running the Bankwest Strategy, Portfolio and Governance team. Reporting to the General Manager Risk, Strategy & Performance, you will operate as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and Bankwest Leadership Team, ensuring strategic priorities and target outcomes are clear, investments and resource allocation aligned, progress visible, and leadership forums and team highly effective. Team Function
The Strategy, Portfolio and Governance team oversees the ongoing development of Bankwest strategy by advising and facilitating Leadership Team discussions. As part of CBA Group, the team prepares materials for the CBA Executive Leadership Team and Board, and collaborates on projects with leaders across Retail Bank and Group.
* Strategy: accountable for running this function, providing thought leadership, shaping the agenda, and proactively identifying emerging strategic questions and risks.
* Portfolio: own the annual and quarterly strategic planning and portfolio cadence, ensuring alignment to Group requirements while maintaining internal clarity and sequencing discipline.
* Governance: ownership of secretariat and governance activities for the Managing Director and Leadership Team forums.

The Executive Manager will report to the General Manager Strategy & Performance and operate as a senior leader across Bankwest. You will run the Strategy, Portfolio and Governance function and ensure it operates with clarity, rigor and impact.
Key responsibilities
* Shape and drive the Bankwest strategic agenda, proactively identifying emerging themes and structuring executive discussions that translate into clear strategic choices.
* Own the annual and quarterly strategic planning and portfolio cadence, ensuring alignment to Group requirements.
* Establish and maintain a clear view of portfolio outcomes, surfacing risks, trade‐offs and investment choices for executive decision.
* Act as a strategic connector across Bankwest, ensuring interdependencies surfaced early and stakeholders aligned to shared priorities.
* Elevate the effectiveness of the Managing Director and Leadership Team forums, ensuring focus on the highest value issues and decision‐grade materials.
* Act as quality gate for strategic and executive papers, ensuring clarity of thinking, logical rigor and executive‐level communication standards.
Qualifications
* At least 10 years business experience, preferably within Financial Services.
* Bachelor degree in business, economics, science, design, engineering, psychology or similar fields.
* Consulting experience with a top tier firm or strategy experience within a Financial Services firm.
* Proven ability to operate autonomously with sound judgement and influence senior audiences.
* Solid understanding of retail banking market dynamics and value drivers.
* Ability to project manage, work independently and build credibility and trust with senior stakeholders.
* Excellent strategic thinking skills, including structured problem‐solving and effective executive communications.
