Overview
This is a full-time role based in Woodridge QLD with Allcott Hire, a leading provider of equipment and services in the Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics industry. As a Driver/Yard Person, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our equipment hire business. We are seeking an enthusiastic Driver/Yard Person who is motivated, organised and demonstrates a "Can Do" attitude to all tasks undertaken. Great communication, planning and forward-thinking skills are a must, as our drivers are the "Face of our Company" whilst delivering our equipment to our extensive customer base.
What you'll be doing
- Safely and responsibly driving vehicles to deliver and collect equipment for customers
- Loading and unloading equipment and materials using appropriate equipment
- Performing yard duties such as stock control, inventory management and equipment maintenance
- Providing excellent customer service and liaising with customers to ensure their satisfaction
- Assisting with general yard operations and contributing to a protected work environment
What we're looking for
- A current and valid MR's driver's licence, ideally with experience driving light rigid vehicles with a clean driving history
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team inclusive of great telephone manner
- Familiarity with operating machinery and equipment, or the ability to learn quickly. Ability to competently load, restrain, transport and unload a variety of plant and equipment
- Good communication and problem-solving skills, sound written and literacy skills for the completion of work
- Flexibility in relation to hours worked (after hours and weekend work available)
- A commitment to safety and a willingness to follow all policies and procedures
