Wildcare Tasmania is seeking expressions of interest to fill two (2) elected Board vacancies from individuals with the skills, experience and commitment to contribute to the governance of a respected, community-driven conservation organisation.

About Wildcare
Wildcare is a registered environmental charity and deductible gift recipient, supporting over 50 volunteer groups across the state and administering the Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund (TNCF).
Through the collective efforts of volunteers, donors, Board and committee members, and staff, Wildcare supports some of Tasmania's most meaningful volunteer-led conservation outcomes.
Role requirements
As a Board member, you will help guide Wildcare's purpose: supporting communities and volunteers to contribute to conservation actions that ensure the long-term protection of Tasmania's natural environment, and contribute to the implementation of Wildcare's Strategic Plan 2025-2027.
Applicants with expertise or experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
* Not-for-profit regulatory and legal frameworks
* Strategic partnerships and organisational leadership
* Ethical fundraising and revenue growth
* Financial management and oversight
* Risk management and contemporary governance
* Community engagement and stakeholder relations
* Environmental volunteer management, including experience with Wildcare volunteer groups
Board Commitment
Board positions are voluntary. The Board meets on average five times per year, online and in person. Board members are expected to prepare for and actively participate in meetings, and to contribute to Board working groups and strategic initiatives.
Eligibility
To be eligible for election, candidates must:
* Be a current member of Wildcare Tasmania
* Be eligible to act as a responsible person under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012
* Be willing to undertake Child Safety Awareness training
* Nomination and Election
* Interested candidates should review the Wildcare Board Role Statement and submit:
* a one-page expression of interest outlining relevant skills and experience, and

Board vacancies will be filled via an election from Wildcare members attending our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 26 March 2026, 7:00 pm (online). Candidates are expected to attend. Candidates' expressions of interest and CVs will be circulated to attending members prior to the AGM.
