ALTERNATIVE ENGINEERING is an engineering machine shop specializing in the machining and fabrication of engineering plastic and metal components for a wide range of industries. Our key clients are in the Food & beverage, Transport & Infrastructure Industries. Alternative Engineering is looking for a suitable applicant to join our engineering team to provide professional and consistent support for our established client base.
Responsibilities
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a Fitter & Turner. Trade Qualified
- Competent operation of a center lathe, milling machine
- Operate hand tools, router, sand blaster
- Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures. Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings and all other discipline related projects and engineering documentation.
- Assemble parts according to drawing specifications
- Strong understanding and commitment to Workplace Health & Safety
- Able to use precision measuring instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, bore Dial gauge etc.
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Punctuality, reliability, efficiency & sound work ethic
- Work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
