On behalf of our client, a world leading integrated Energy company, we ae currently seeking for a HSE Specialist, Waste Management Coordinator.
This role will be responsible for establishing a consistent Waste Management Process (including supporting tools) across Barrow Island i.e. Gorgon, WA Oil, Wells and Projects.
A key aspect of the role includes raising awareness and fluency on waste management requirements and working closely with a range of stakeholders e.g. Planners, Waste Owners and Business Partners.
**About this role**
- Finalise and rollout Waste Management Process and Tools. This will be critical in the initial stages and building fluency and ownership. Finalise Waste Owner (and Delegate) and Waste Coordinator roles and responsibilities for sign-off by leadership. Consistent point of contact throughout the process and enabling wastes to progress to the next phase to prevent any bottlenecks or stockpiling of waste on BWI. A key part of this will be working with the Planners in Perth to ensure waste is appropriately captured as part of work scope planning and inclusion in labour routes. Focal Point and "go to" for waste related queries across the various teams (Production, Maintenance, Projects) and the various contractors and levels (Leadership to Crews in the field handling the waste) - Education and awareness on general waste requirements e.g. waste segregation, handling and labelling. Provision of sampling guidance; CoC template generation; review of sampling results, Dangerous Goods, advice as it relates to waste management. Provide data for waste metrics. Population of Waste Catalogue and reach out to relevant stakeholders on applicable aspects. Visible presence on site to continuously raise awareness and profile for waste. Provide sampling support. There may be instances where the role could complete sampling on ad-hoc basis and build teams fluency on how to take a sample. However, being the one - Complete waste safeguard verification and assurance activities. Ensure waste regulatory requirements are met. Identification of streamlining, simplification, and waste minimisation opportunities.
**About you**
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related environmental engineering disciplineExcellent communication and interpersonal skills across all different levels of the organisation
- Previous experience in waste management, rolling out processes, systems, and procedures
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations
- Entensive experience in environmental management, with preference given to direct experience in waste management
