Office Administrator - Construction Company (TownsvilleAdmin) Townsville, Australia

Overview:

Our client, a successful and award-winning construction company, is seeking an Office Administrator to join their growing team. Specializing in new home design and construction across North Queensland, the company prides itself on delivering high-quality projects. As they continue to expand, they are looking for a motivated individual to manage key administrative functions and support the smooth running of the office operations.

This role will be crucial in ensuring that all office operations run smoothly, from managing documentation and correspondence to providing administrative support to the project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage general office operations, including answering phones, emails, and handling correspondence.
* Assist in the preparation of project documentation, reports, and general administrative tasks.
* Maintain and organize office files and databases, ensuring information is easily accessible.
* Coordinate meetings, appointments, and schedules for management and team members.
* Assist with invoicing, timesheets, and procurement tasks as required.
* Support the HR function with employee records and onboarding of new staff.
* Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients for administrative matters.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain a well-organized office environment.
* Provide general administrative support to the project managers and senior staff as needed.

Key Skills & Experience:

* Proven experience in office administration or a similar administrative role (construction industry experience is a plus).
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office management software.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of basic financial processes (invoicing, timesheets) is an advantage.
* Previous experience in the construction industry or a related field is desirable, but not essential.
