About the role
This role will see you providing engineering and technical support in the delivery of transmission lines projects with specialist knowledge on lines and towers. You will work with internal stakeholders, and Design and Construction Delivery Partners to ensure projects are delivered in a cost-efficient way and to high standards of quality.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Deliver expert engineering and technical support into Customer and Company initiated projects across AusNet’s Transmission network, applying technical knowledge across brownfield and greenfield initiatives to drive efficient design and construction outcomes
* Apply technical engineering knowledge to ensure efficient solutions can be reached on complex design projects
* Develop scopes and specifications for design and construction
* Review and assess brownfield and greenfield lines and towers designs, providing technical input into staging, constructability, operability, maintainability and safety in design covering:
o Lines design with PLS-CADD
o Structure design and modelling using PLS-POLE and TOWER
o Foundation design
* Drive design excellence through active involvement in detailed design reviews, supporting Requests for Information, tender processes, quality monitoring, and decision-making in partnership with internal specialists and external design providers.
About you
You don’t need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
* Tertiary qualification in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
* Detailed technical knowledge and extensive experience working in electricity networks engineering and transmission lines in project delivery and/or design roles
* Detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals with extensive design and construction knowledge covering performance, functionality, operation, maintenance and risks
