Applicants suitable for the role but not offered the current vacancy may be placed on a merit list or pool. With the applicant's consent, results may be shared with other Australian Public Service (APS) agencies for similar roles. Applicants may be offered future roles without reapplying. A merit list or pool may be valid for up to 18 months.

Position: Assistant Director, Planning and Performance - Identified Position
Location: Canberra ACT
The External Budgets, Strategy and Performance Branch supports strategic policy development, budget priorities, corporate planning, and performance monitoring. The team leads the department's planning, performance measurement, and reporting activities, including audits and compliance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
Key duties include:
* Managing the ANAO audit of the department's Annual Performance Statements
* Advising on planning and performance frameworks and policies
* Supporting corporate planning, reporting, and non-financial performance activities
* Preparing performance reports and briefings for senior management and ministers
* Supporting assurance and evaluation activities in line with relevant frameworks and legislation
Note: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, Australian citizenship is required unless an exemption is granted. This is a security assessed position requiring the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance. The process may establish a merit pool for future vacancies over the next 18 months.
