Due to program growth and service demand, we have a new opportunity to join our team.We are seeking a suitably qualified mental health professional to join us, on a full-time permanent basis, based in the Craigieburn office and supporting the Transition to Work team.
The role will support young people accessing services across the North West Melbourne region through a mix of face-to-face support and telehealth.This role supports young people aged 15 to 24 to improve overall health and wellbeing.
The key functions are to administer various biopsychosocial assessments, deliver a range of specialist and generalist counselling/therapeutic services, build key stakeholder relationships and manage risk, with the overall goal of supporting young people towards employment or education.DutiesDeliver a range of specialist and generalist counselling/therapeutic services and support programs (both individual and group-based) in a range of settings to young people with various mental health conditions and complex psychosocial needs, including guidance in returning to work or education.Use short-term evidence-based interventions to support young people in maintaining their general health and wellbeing.Support onward referrals as needed by building and maintaining key external stakeholder relationships with the community.Be adaptable and responsive to community and key stakeholder needs.Ensure service delivery is compliant with relevant industry body standards and frameworks.Create tailored support plans for each young person that empower them to return to and maintain meaningful vocation.Work closely with Youth Coaches to ensure Allied Health services address young people's needs and service gaps.Support Youth Coaches by providing relevant advice and training regarding mental health presentations as needed.About YouRelevant tertiary qualifications and full registration as an Allied Health professional with one of the following industry bodies is essential:Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Counsellor with a Bachelor's degree or above and registered at Level 2 or above with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA)Certified Practising/Clinical registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)Social worker registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as an accredited mental health social workerOccupational Therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Working with Children's Check card (or ability to obtain one prior to commencement) is essential.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work with young people from diverse backgrounds.Knowledge and understanding of issues that impact a young person's engagement with education and employment.Ability to be self-motivated, responsive and flexible in an environment with time pressures and multiple priorities.Experience in a similar role will be highly regarded but is not essential.What's on offerOne-to-one and group-based supervision facilitated by a Board-approved Psychologist.Regular peer supervision and case review support.Emphasis on staff training and professional development.Free Employee Assistance Program for all employees.Up to $18,550 p.a. in salary packaging options to increase your fortnightly take-home pay.Flexible working hours and arrangements for work-life balance, including work from home dependent on operational requirements.Option of purchasing additional two weeks of annual leave.Mobile phone and laptop provided.If you are interested, please submit a copy of your resume and cover letter outlining your suitability.
