Mackay Airport is a key gateway to Central Queensland and an integral part of the North Queensland Airports Group. We are seeking a highly motivated Terminal Operations Coordinator to lead our Duty Terminal Coordinator team and support the delivery of exceptional terminal operations every day.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations or customer service leader who is passionate about creating a safe, secure and seamless airport experience for our community, visitors and airline partners. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team and work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including airlines, contractors, commercial partners, security providers and government agencies, to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our terminal operations.
ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:
Leadership & Customer Service
• Lead and support the Duty Terminal Coordinator Team to deliver excellent service to all airport users.
• Build strong professional relationships with tenants, contractors, service providers, and airline partners.
• Support terminal promotions, events, and commercial activities.
Terminal Operations & Compliance
• Oversee ID/access control systems, airport key management, ASIC issuing processes, and internal audits.
• Manage CUSS/CUTE systems and ensure terminal facilities meet NQA’s operational and WHS standards.
• Coordinate emergency equipment inspections and support emergency planning activities.
Administration & Reporting
• Prepare and review daily shift reports, CCTV requests, SOP updates, and operational documentation.
• Support performance reviews, training planning, and development of the Duty Terminals team.
• Coordinate rosters to ensure appropriate coverage aligned with flight schedules.
Safety, Security & ESG
• Promote a strong safety culture in line with WHS legislation, SMS, and CASA requirements (including DAMP).
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives and responsible resource management.

ABOUT YOU:
• Diploma, Degree or Trade qualification (desirable).
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
• Experience leading teams in fast-paced environments
• Sound understanding of airport operations (advantageous)
• Strong administrative and organisational capability
• Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends
• Computer literacy, including MS Office and CMMS (MEX preferred).

ELIGIBIILITY REQUIREMENTS:
