The opportunity

Delaware North Australia is seeking a full-time Legal Counsel with 3 - 4 years PQE to join our in‑house legal team based at Head Office, Docklands. You’ll provide practical, commercial advice across a diverse portfolio covering Sports & Entertainment, Parks & Resorts, Merchandise, Travel Hospitality and Gaming, helping leaders make confident decisions while protecting our brands and guests.

What will you do?

- Manage legal risk and provide commercial advice across procurement, licensing, partnerships, and operational matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, clearly communicating risks and well‑reasoned positions
- Conduct legal research, policy development, and governance, support company secretarial activities, and maintain key records
- Drive operational projects, support litigation and investigations, and maintain robust systems for contracts and intellectual property
- Collaborate closely with functional leaders and site teams, and brief external counsel when required
- Communicate complex legal issues clearly and constructively to non‑lawyers

More about you

- Must hold an LLB or JD and be admitted in an Australian jurisdiction with a current practising certificate
- Minimum 3 - 4 years’ PQE (private practice and/or in‑house) with strength in commercial contracting, corporate advisory, compliance, and regulatory matters
- Experience and knowledge in privacy and data protection
- Possess sharp drafting and negotiation skills, robust business acumen, clear communication abilities, and demonstrate ownership and reliability
- Exposure to gaming law, HR/employment, and liquor licensing is highly regarded
