About the Opportunity
Are you ready to grow and commence your career in land use planning. We are seeking qualified town planners, with a good understanding of planning principles with a can-do attitude to join the Planning team in delivery of their projects, planning assessments and customer enquiry response.
Located in one of the finest regional areas of Victoria, Council is seeking a Statutory Planner on a full-time basis primarily based in Portland to assist the Planning Unit. This role is an essential part of the Planning Unit that supports the day-to-day operations within the unit.
In this key role you will be responsible for:
* To assist Council in achieving and maintaining a high-quality liveable environment by implementing the provisions of the Glenelg Planning Scheme and associated planning strategies and policies.
* To receive, process and assess planning applications and associated consents.
* Delivering the best available advice, assistance and service to internal and external customers which enhances a positive image for the department and Council.
