Runaway Bay Junior Leagues Club is looking for a proactive and people-focused Operations Manager to help lead our vibrant community venue and support our ongoing growth. As a proud local club with diverse facilities, and a loyal membership base, we are committed to delivering exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment for our members, guests, and sporting families.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic hospitality professional who thrives in a hands‑on management role. You will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the club, support multiple departments, help deliver our strategic vision, and ensure operations run smoothly across all areas — including bar, bistro, gaming and functions.
Working closely with the General Manager, you will play a key part in maintaining high service standards, enhancing the member experience, and contributing to the overall success of the club.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Overseeing daily operations across all front line departments
* Supporting the management team to deliver consistent, high-quality customer service
* Assisting with rostering, workforce planning, and staff development
* Monitoring gaming performance and identifying opportunities for growth
* Maintaining operational compliance including liquor, gaming, and safety requirements
* Assisting with budgets, stock control, cash handling, and reporting
* Coordinating club events, functions, and community engagement activities
* Building positive relationships with members and local sporting groups.
* Upholding the club's culture, values, and community‑focused approach
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in a management role within hospitality or a club environment
* Strong understanding of gaming operations and compliance.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with staff members and patrons
* A hands‑on leadership style and the confidence to support busy operations
* Strong problem‑solving ability and calm decision‑making under pressure
* A passion for community clubs, sport, and creating memorable member experiences
* Understanding of financial performance, budgets, and operational reporting
* Knowledge of relevant legislation including liquor, gaming, workplace relations, and WHS
