Overview
Education Assistant - Mainstream Branch, East Narrogin Primary School. Division: Independent Public School - Wheatbelt Education Region. Salary: Level 1 / 2, EA (Gov) GA. This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1. East Narrogin Primary School is located in Narrogin, in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.
East Narrogin is nestled on Wiilman Boodja within the Wheatbelt community of Narrogin. Narrogin derives from the Noongar word Gnarojin (place of water). Our school provides primary education for Kindergarten to Year 6, with a focus on a safe, inclusive learning environment and the wellbeing of each child.
The Chaplain and the Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO) are integral parts of our school community, working to strengthen links with families, the local community and the school. Role and responsibilities
The Role: As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you will assist in delivering planned education programs to support the development of young minds. You will collaborate and work in a team environment and support the implementation of individual or small group programs. You will contribute to maintaining a healthy and safe learning environment and support the overall wellbeing of students. You may be asked to help manage student behaviour in line with school policies and programs.
Working under teacher direction in a diverse role, you will help ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant, with health and safety of students as a high priority.
Qualifications and capabilities
Education Assistants will ideally possess:
Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable implementation of individual or small group programs.
Ability to support the general health and well-being of students.
Organisational skills and initiative to assist with preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.
Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to a diverse role.

Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
