What you'll deliver with us
The Senior Network Designer reports directly to the Manager, Infrastructure Design and Delivery, who leads the delivery of the Australia Post Group Enterprise Enablement Network and infrastructure programs. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimising enterprise network infrastructure across Australia Post's corporate, retail, and logistics environments. This role supports the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance network solutions aligned with the architecture of strategic programs such as ALM, cyber security uplift, and SASE rollout.
About you
As Senior Network Design Engineer, you are accountable to development of network design to enable the business portfolio to achieve their strategic goals and objectives, aligned to enterprise-wide capabilities and priorities. The Senior Network Designer plays a critical role in ensuring the appropriate network design standards and best practices are in place. The Senior Network Designer is accountable for designing and documenting network solutions that support Australia Post's strategic infrastructure initiatives. This role ensures that network designs are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards, while enabling efficient delivery of services across corporate, retail, and logistics environments.
The role will be responsible for
* Design and document network solutions for new and existing infrastructure, cloud and security projects.
* Support leadership team to implement and maintain design centre of excellence (CoE)
* Provide technical guidance to network engineers to successfully deliver the project outcomes
* Participate and lead network changes in the CAB and TRA
* Collaborate with Infrastructure and Cloud Designers, Delivery Leads, and external vendors to validate technical feasibility.
* Develop high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) for SASE, LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, SD‑WAN, and Cloud connectivity.
* Ensure compliance with security policies, including MAC binding, VLAN segmentation, and firewall rules etc.
* Strong understanding of MAC binding, VLAN's, IP routing, and network segmentation.
* Experience with Cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP)
* Datacentres Inter‑connectivity and hybrid connectivity models
* Industry certification CCIE or similar
