Rate: $38.76 - $41.38 (L3) per hour including Tax and Super (costs associated with Insurance & Workcover are taken care of by the Employer, who will also process your Tax and Super payments on your behalf)5 days per week with a child aged 7 years Not Flex with days - School holidays will be full time from 9am to 6pm. During school term the hours will be from 3:00 to 9:00pmNot Flex with times We are seeking a patient, gentle, and observant Educator who can support a 7-year-old child. The Educator would need to collaborate with the family on daily routines and individualised learning goals. The ideal Educator will either have experience with, or be willing to learn about, non-verbal communication tools such as Proloquo2Go. The child's interests include puzzles, reading, writing, and other quiet table time. Supervise and accompany the child on short outdoor runs twice a day, with mindfulness and presence during all outdoor activities. The child needs to be helped with toileting and hygiene routines. Support the child during bedtime routines with a calm and consistent approach. The family would like a Chinese speaking Educator but not essential. The ideal candidate will bring empathy, patience, and a passion for early childhood development, fostering a supportive environment that encourages growth and learning. The Educator will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences tailored to the child's interests and evolving needs. These experiences should be designed to support and extend developmental milestones while keeping the child engaged and curious. Activities should reflect the child's current fascinations, which include cars, nature, music, vacuums, and household tools such as brooms. Responding to the child's cues with sensitivity and adapting care strategies as needed is essential to the role. A background in supporting children with additional needs is highly valued, and while seizure training is preferable, it is not essential. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a home with animals, as the family shares their home with a friendly Jack Russell dog and a gentle Ragdoll cat.
