We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Safety engineer with option to work form either Sydney, Canberra or Adelaide to provide critical assurance and systems capability requirements for a large tactical solutions defence program.
Contract period: 9 months with possible extensions
Start: Immediate

Clearance: NV1 required
Role: Systems Safety Engineer
Role details:
* Maintain the System Safety Program Plan.
* Contribute to the overall safety case.
* Contribute to the completion of program milestones.
* Conduct system safety analysis and deliver associated system safety deliverables in accordance with schedule, most notably the OSHA and HHA
* Conduct reviews of supplier safety analysis and associated liaison activities.
* Conduct ongoing management of the hazard tracking system.
* Manage the planning, coordination, and conduct of system safety working groups.
* Provide status and estimate remaining effort for assigned tasks.
* Identify, report and manage risks using defined processes.
* Provide support to design reviews throughout the program lifecycle.
* Adhere to the system safety engineering process.
* Other duties as deemed relevant to program and operational requirements and within the technical competency of the position.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
* A qualified practitioner with degree qualifications or relevant industry experience
* Minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience required.
* Knowledge of Australian safety related legislation, in particular legislation relating to workplace health & safety.
* Knowledge of Defence safety standards along with industry best practice safety standards
* NV1 clearance
