*The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Practitioner (Mental Health - Disaster Resilience and Recovery Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Plan Implement and evaluate integrated care that optimizes outcomes for consumers referred to the Acute Care Team and external services - Disaster Resilience and Recovery Team
Provide mental health expert nursing interventions that may involve initiation, titration or cessation of medicines within the scope.
Collaborate and consult with other members of the health care team / Acute Care Team and work in partnership to achieve optimal outcomes with the consumer
Provide point of contact coordination and clinical assessment / intervention for individual consumers who deteriorate while accessing services within the MMHC and as part of the GCHHS DRRT response when activated by the DRRT Team leader
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
Driver Licence
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

The Disaster Recovery and Resilience Program (DRRP) helps empower communities through building relationships to develop knowledge, skills and resources to face disaster. There is a natural recovery period for individuals who experience psychological distress during and following disasters.
The Gold Coast Health Mental Health and Specialist Services (GCHHS), Disaster Recovery and Resilience Program will provide a stepped care model of post disaster mental health recovery support and assistance across all Gold Coast storm impacted areas.
