Aboriginal Law Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Aboriginal law specialist to support the rights and interests of Traditional Owners.
In this role, you will guide Traditional Owners through consultation processes for land and water use matters. You'll provide expert legal advice and representation under the Native Title Act 1993 and the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer who values respect, integrity, and accountability in their work. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work with anthropologists and regional officers to provide services to Traditional Owners.
What You Will Bring
* A current legal practicing certificate and at least 3 years' experience practicing the law post-admission.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including Traditional Owners, government, and industry proponents.
* Strong time management, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
