Why this role matters
The Salvation Army is seeking a Team Leader to support the delivery of high‐quality homelessness services in Alice Springs. This role plays a key part in ensuring people experiencing homelessness, displacement and complex social challenges receive safe, consistent and person‐centred support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Case Manager or emerging leader who is ready to step into a supervisory role. You will lead a small team of Case Managers, support day‐to‐day service delivery, and contribute to a justice‐diversion program that provides supported accommodation and psychosocial support for people with low to mild mental health needs.

About the role
The Team Leader provides supervision, guidance and operational support to the Case Management team. You will oversee intake and assessment, case management practice, assertive outreach and the delivery of holistic support to clients.
Working closely with the Program Manager, you will ensure services are delivered safely, consistently and in line with TSA policies, legislation and funding requirements. You will also contribute to budgeting oversight, stakeholder engagement and the recruitment, onboarding and development of staff.
This role requires strong communication skills, resilience, and the ability to support a team working with clients who may present with homelessness, AOD concerns, mental health needs and complex social circumstances.

* Provide day‐to‐day supervision, support and guidance to Case Managers

* Develop and implement professional development plans to strengthen capability
* Ensure staff have clarity around expectations, responsibilities and service standards
* Undertake client assessments and support the development of case plans
* Ensure service delivery is compliant with legislation, regulations and TSA policies
* Support budgeting oversight in consultation with the Red Shield Hostel Manager
* Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Lead end‐to‐end recruitment, onboarding and induction of staff
* Contribute to safe, consistent and high‐quality service delivery across the program
What you will bring
* Degree in Social Services, Community Development or related field, or extensive experience in a similar role
* Demonstrated experience engaging people experiencing homelessness
* Understanding of homelessness, AOD and mental health issues
* Previous experience supervising staff and supporting team performance
* Strong organisational and time‐management skills
* Experience working within budgets and service delivery requirements
* Ability to remain calm, resilient and solutions‐focused in challenging situations
* Commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and person‐centred practice
