About The Role
Grampians Health Ballarat is currently seeking Theatre Technician(s) grades 3-5 to fill a casual role in the Operating Suite.
Theatre Technicians work under the supervision of the Theatre Technician Manager/Nurse Unit Manager and collaborate with the Operating Suite team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The role involves working with all operating suite staff and hospital staff on tasks such as transport, patient positioning, setup, cleaning, and maintenance of Operating Suite equipment.
This is a casual position with a 7-day roster, which may include on-call duties as required by the Operating Suite.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with the correct, safe, and dignified positioning of patients during their perioperative journey, in accordance with policies and procedures.
2. Prepare and maintain equipment within the Operating Suite.
3. Handle specialty equipment safely.
4. Maintain awareness of equipment functions and report malfunctions.
5. Transport, clean, and porters duties as directed.
6. Transport and dispose of soiled linen and consumables.
7. Participate in education, audits, quality, governance, and departmental meetings.
8. Ensure compliance with infection control, respiratory protection, and immunization requirements.
9. Maintain mandatory competencies relevant to the role.
10. Contribute to achieving results, innovation, and change to deliver high-quality patient care.
11. Work across all functions of perioperative services as directed.
